  Why "fancy dress" and "theme weddings" were BANNED by our Congregation!

  our kingdom hall was in a boring town of 30,000 people so to spice things up me and some special pioneers living with us decided to have a fancy dress up party!

  what could go wrong?

  Need help understanding the Overlapping Generation teaching

  so this is a topic that seriously boggles my mind and please correct me if i'm wrong.

  to me, the jw definition of the overlapping generation teaching is that the lives of the anointed from 1914 overlap with the lives of the anointed right now.

  david splane used the example of fred franz and how he finished his "earthly course" in 1992 but while he did, he had a lot of "contemporaries" that outlived him and are currently living today.

  lots of contradictory and nutty comments - for instance stating one minute that 1914 proved such a faith strengthening event because it fulfilled all their predictions, how encouraged they were, and then a few minutes later claiming the opposite - that many were disappointed and shocked because their expectations were not met!.

  lett made a complete public denial of any wrong doing on the part of those directing watchtower policies i think his statement as well as splane's statements of denial to the portugal indoctrinated members certainly shows the evil information he is willing to spill out to keep these matters of serious concern away from their believing public there in portugal.. i feel these videos if they can be used in court cases of child molestation will swing the jury toward megabuck$$$ based on the denial expressed to make these denying ass holes wake up and shrivel up their real estate assets quicker.

  She's here and early! 27 weeks 1day.

  so as of july 2nd my wife delivered by c-section our little one pound, three ounce daughter izabella.

  it was a very scary night that started with a decel and turned into multiple decels that greatly concerned the doctors.

  by early morning they felt the need to take her for her safety.

  Scully ...Although the next several weeks will be busier than you can imagine, try to cherish the moments with her as much as you can. It won't be long until she's at 35 weeks or so, and then you could be able to bring her home...

  I thought, right on, my daughter is over 30 now. Then I read it again. 35 weeks. LOL. My little girl is 31 years old now and it happened so fast. She was pre-mature at 3 pounds.

  i haven't seen or spoke to him in a year.

  i'd lost all contact with him, no facebook, no mobile number, i didn't even know his address because he'd moved house.

  Russian BOE letters of instruction - meetings and $$$ matter$

  Later that night, after a hard day of meaningless and tiring work Anatoly opens his mail. The first one is from his loving wife, Anastasia, encouraging him to stay strong and keep the faith. His spirits are built up and he feels much better. Then he opens the second letter. He looks at the return address. He is excited and his spirit is high.

  We hope this letter finds you in good health. How wonderful it is to be able to show Jehovah how valuable he is to us, when we persevere under all trials for his name. Now, Br. Schmukov, we find it necessary to remind you that your monthly 'voluntary commitment' donations have not been reaching us for several months. It was with great difficulty that we finally were able to get your new address. It is also disturbing that we had to go to such effort to track you down, but now that we have, please remit your 'voluntary commitment' donation for this month and the previous seven months.

  Uninvited...again...

  so a week or so ago we received an invitation for a jw friend's wedding anniversary party in the mail.it was addressed to 'the andersen family' (and not just mrs. andersen & baby andersen) which was pleasant of course, but not a huge surprise given the type of person who said friend is.. however, i already prepared myself to be uninvited after all.

  some time ago, there was a congregation farewell party/get-together.to my surprise, i was invited too!

  an elder specifically came over to my house to tell me.then some weeks later, he visited again, being terribly sorry but the invitation was revoked as the congregation got concerned over my possible presence.. with that debacle in mind, i wasn't surprised to receive a message from my friend 'hey are you at home?

  With that debacle in mind, I wasn't surprised to receive a message from my friend 'Hey are you at home? We need to discuss you being at my anniversary party'. Well what do you know! Yesterday he told me I'm not invited anymore as the congregation was getting upset about me being there.

  I'm stunned that an adult would put up with crap like that. You need a backbone.
